NestRide's Privacy Notice describes the information we collect, how it is used and shared, and your choices regarding this information. This policy applies to any users of the services offered by NestRide or its affiliates anywhere in the world, and more specifically Kenya, to anyone else who contacts NestRide or otherwise submits information to the Group, unless noted in the Privacy Notice.

This notice describes how NestRide and its affiliates collect and use personal data. This notice applies to all users of our apps, websites, features, or other services anywhere in the world, but more specifically within Kenya.
Unless covered by a separate privacy notice, this notice specifically applies to:
- Riders: individuals who request or receive transportation, including those who receive transportation requested by another individual
- Drivers: individuals who provide transportation to Riders individually or through partner transportation companies
This notice also governs NestRide’s other collections of personal data in connection with our services.
We may collect the contact information of individuals who use accounts owned by NestRide for business customers
We may also collect the personal data of those who start but do not complete applications to be drivers or clients.
The data we collect includes:
- Data provided by users to NestRide, during account creation
- Data created during use of our services, such as location, app usage, and device data
- Data from other sources, such as NestRide partners and third parties that use NestRide APIs
To enable NestRide to secure our drivers and clients, the data we collect are used sparingly under the circumstances listed hereunder;
- To enhance the safety and security of our users and services
- For customer support
- For research and development
- To enable communications between users
- To send marketing and non-marketing communications to users
- In connection with legal proceedings
NestRide does not sell or share user personal data with third parties for their direct marketing, except with users’ consent.
All those subject to this notice are referred to as “users” in this notice.

If my Account was Compromised
If you suspect that someone else used your Uber account or there is suspicious account activity, your account may be compromised. Suspicious activity includes: - Trip requests on your account you didn't make - Completed trips on your account you didn't request or take - Phone calls or text messages from drivers about pickup when you did not request a trip - Receipts for trips on your account that you don't recognize - Account changes that you didn't make - Changes to your payment profile that you didn't make - Password or email attached to your account updated without your knowledge
How Does Nestride Use Contacts
The app will ask for the contacts permission if you use features that display your address book within the app, for example: Trusted Contacts, Split Fares, Share ETA, Invite a Friend. NestRide will continue to store the information of specific contacts that you select when you use those features, such as the friends you split fares with.
Location Information (Android)
NestRide uses your device's location services to make it easier to get a safe, reliable ride whenever you need one. Location data helps improve our services, including pickups, navigation, customer support, and more. If you're using an Android device and location collection is enabled, we may collect location information from the time you open the NestRide app until your trip ends or is canceled. This includes when your app is not visible on screen. If you disable location collection you can still use the app, but you'll need to enter your pickup and drop-off locations manually. Location information will be collected from the driver during your trip and linked to your account, even if you have disabled location services for your app. To manage location settings on your device:
- Open your device's Settings 2. Find your location permissions for NestRide 3. Toggle location "On" or "Off"

NestRide uses your device's location services to make it easier to get a safe, reliable ride whenever you need one. Location data helps improve our services, including pickups, navigation, customer support, and more. If you're using an iOS device, you have 3 location settings to choose from: - Always:
We may collect location information from the time you open the app until your trip ends or is canceled. This includes when your app is in the background. - While using the app:
We may collect location information when the app is visible on screen. If a feature needs your location in the background, we'll ask for your permission. You'll get a notice on screen if location is being collected in the background when you are in the "While Using" setting. - Never:
This option disables location services for the app. You can still use the app, but you'll need to enter your pickup and drop-off locations manually. Location information will be collected from the driver during your trip and linked to your account, even if you have disabled location services for your app. To manage location settings on your device: 1. Open your device's Settings 2. Tap "Privacy," then "Location Services" 3. Tap "NestRide" 4. Select "Always," "While Using the App," or "Never"
Data Requests From Law Enforcement Agency
Requests for information received from authorized law enforcement agencies will be responded to according to our policies, terms, and applicable laws. Authorized law enforcement agency may request for information regarding so long due processes have been followed and all level affidavits, duly signed from courts with jurisdiction are attached to such request. Without which, NestRide reserve all rights and objections, such as for lack of jurisdiction or improper service. Law enforcement should take into account applicable privacy and data protection requirements, such as proportionality and subsidiarity, and at a minimum include in their request:
- Clear grounds for the legal basis for the request;
- Detailed specifics on the information sought and how this particular information may benefit the investigation. We will be unable to process overly broad or vague requests that do not identify the information sought with particularity; and
- The name of the issuing authority, badge/ID number of the responsible agent or officer, an email address from a law-enforcement domain, and a direct contact number for the responsible agent or officer.
Notice of Request
We may notify riders and driver-partners of law enforcement requests for their information before disclosure of any personal data.
Requesting Data from NestRide
NestRide will respond to any data requests by authorized officers from any law enforcement organs within the Republic of Kenya, and for the justifications which will be provided by the requesting agent.
Should it be felt that there is not adequate justification to release any data regarding a client or a driver, this will be rejected and our legal team will take the matter up with the Agency
